Kadokawa announced an anime movie adaptation of Nowaki Fukamidori's 'Whoever Steals This Book' novel, slated for release in 2026. The project boasts a talented staff including Daiki Fukuoka as director, Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling the screenplay, and Keiko Kurosawa designing the characters. The story follows Mifuyu, a book-hating high schooler who must recover stolen books and save her town from a curse. Yen Press has licensed both the novel and its manga adaptation for English release.
