Shōgo Imamura's historical firefighter novel Hikuidori (Fire Eater) will be adapted into a TV anime and manga. The manga launches in spring, and the anime arrives in winter 2026. The novel, part of the Ushūboro Tobigumi series, has 12 volumes and won the Yoshikawa Eiji Bunko Award. Imamura's other work, Last Samurai Standing, is also getting a live-action adaptation on Netflix.
