A TV anime adaptation of Teren Mikami's light novel There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… (Watanare) debuts July 2025. The official site reveals cast, staff, and a teaser visual.

Staff: Directed by Natsumi Uchinuma, script by Naruhisa Arakawa, and animation by Studio MOTHER. Other credits include Kojikoji (character design) and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (music).
Mikami launched Watanare under Dash x Bunko in February 2020 with illustrations by Eku Takeshima. The series has six volumes and 500,000 copies in print. A manga adaptation by Musshu began in May 2020, with seven volumes released. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both versions in English.
Synopsis:
Renako wants a fresh start in high school and befriends glamorous model Mai Ouzuka. Their bond grows, but Mai's romantic confession sends Renako into a spiral as she tries to prove friendship beats romance. Mai, however, is determined to turn her into a lover.
